Introducing Mr. & Mrs. Battiste…..officially Hitched on Hilton Head!
It was the wedding of lifetime and one without a price tag for the Julie and Dave, thanks to the generosity of a large group of Hilton Head Island businesses. When Celebrations Catering and Events proposed the idea of a wedding giveaway, fellow wedding vendors climbed on board with the concept and agreed to donate goods and services on behalf of a memorable, spectacular wedding weekend.
Pittsburgh natives Julie Klein and Dave Battiste say that getting hitched on Hilton Head was meant to be since the long-time wish of Julie’s late father was that his daughter would marry on Hilton Head Island (Richard Klein passed of lung cancer in 2007). “I popped the question there,” says Dave, a 30-year-old physical therapist and PhD with degrees from the University of Pittsburgh. “I have many fond memories of Hilton Head,” says his smitten 25-year-old blushing bride and a physical therapist who is currently working on her doctorate at Pitt. The dream-come-true wedding couldn’t have happened at a better time for the young duo who are launching their careers and marriage in the midst of a challenging economy.
